El mundo tiene los ojos puestos en Ucrania en esta nueva situación en la que se encuentra el conflicto que de ser para Rusia una «operación militar especial» ha pasado a ser una auténtica declaración de guerra. No es un mero cambio de denominación lo que se ha producido para describir una misma realidad, sino una auténtica transformación de hecho y de derecho de la situación preexistente, a una guerra con todas las consecuencias. Hablar de escalada militar es lo adecuado, con Putin movilizando a 300.000 reservistas aplicando el Código Penal a quienes se nieguen, y afirmando que «para ganar la guerra» está dispuesto a utilizar toda la capacidad militar de la que Rusia dispone. Estas palabras no dejan lugar a dudas sobre lo que debería haber estado claro desde un principio para Biden y sus asesores: que Putin no se va a retirar de Ucrania sin conseguir su objetivo. Es decir, anexionarse el Donbas, y hacerse con el control del Mar de Azov y del Mar Negro. Con el arma nuclear en su poder, es una ingenuidad creer que Zelensky –es decir, sus amos– van a derrotar a Rusia. Ucrania no es Afganistán para Rusia, de donde se retiró en su día, por cierto igual que hizo Estados Unidos con Biden en una retirada de Kabul poco ejemplar al poco de acceder a la Casa Blanca. La maniobra de los referéndums para anexionarse la región, tiene además para la zona la consecuencia de pasar a ser a todos los efectos, territorio nacional ruso, por lo que cualquier ataque allí sería considerado por parte de Rusia como un ataque a su independencia y soberanía.
Quienes consideran que lo que sucede es una guerra entre los «buenos» con Zelensky en el papel de su actor líder, y los «malvados» con Putin al frente, convendría reflexionaran en lo sucedido desde que terminó la guerra fría, en esos dos años vertiginosos transcurridos entre la caída del Muro –9 noviembre de 1989–, y la implosión de la URSS el 8 de diciembre de 1991. El «deep state» marcó la agenda para ejercer el monopolio económico y político global creyendo era llegado el momento del fin de la Historia con ellos como vencedores. En lugar de trabajar por consolidar un mundo –ya casi libre del comunismo– y en paz, se quiso la hegemonía basada en el dominio militar y económico. En lugar de ayudar a la Rusia ya liberada del yugo comunista, la han tratado como a un enemigo, como si fuera la URSS. Y han conseguido que estemos en riesgo de una guerra nuclear con la Tercera guerra mundial ya declarada.
