La asociación lleva a cabo su tradicional cuestación, instalando mesas petitorias en la plaza de España, Mercadillo y Hospital Mancha Centro de la localidad
La Asociación Española contra el Cáncer de Alcázar de San Juan (AECC) ha salido hoy a la calle para llevar a cabo su tradicional cuestación, instalando mesas petitorias en la Plaza de España, Mercadillo y Hospital Mancha Centro. El objetivo sigue siendo concienciar a la sociedad en la lucha contra esta enfermedad y recaudar fondos destinados a la investigación.
La alcaldesa de Alcázar de San Juan, Rosa Melchor, y la concejala de Servicios Sociales, Patricia Benito, han mostrado su apoyo a esta jornada de cuestación acompañando al presidente de la asociación local, Enrique Lubián y los voluntarios que se encontraban en la mesa petitoria instalada en la Plaza de España. Se trata de una iniciativa, destacaba la alcaldesa, que sirve para ayudar a que el cáncer tenga cura a través de la investigación y no sea sinónimo de muerte. Por otro lado, Rosa Melchor puso en valor la labor de acompañamiento que realiza la asociación con pacientes y familiares.
Lubián reiteraba una vez más que el dinero recaudado en la jornada de hoy irá destinado a la investigación del cáncer. La intención es conseguir financiación para ampliar de tres a cuatro las becas de investigación en la provincia de Ciudad Real el próximo año. Y es que, informaba, el cáncer es la primera causa de muerte en varones y la segunda en mujeres. «

El presidente de la Asociación Española contra el Cáncer en Alcázar agradecía la colaboración de los alcazareños en todas y cada una de las actividades organizadas.
